DO THE BEST YOU CAN

Ok here is the deal and my philosophy… it’s pretty simple, and all about doing the best you can. If the majority of what you put in your body is nutritious, you’re fine. Sometimes it’s good to treat yourself to something outside the lines, if it feels right to you and makes you happy, but remember to really enjoy it (don’t rush it down). Today I sipped on a soy chai, not a big fan of soy because of the effects it has on our hormones, but was following my intuition and craving something warm and soothing (and def don’t like diary).

So let’s go back to the concept – do the best you can and listen to your body. Don’t worry too much about being 100% perfectly raw, it’s better to follow your intuition, guiding you to a balanced life.

  • Great blog, loads of useful tips and ideas.
But could you please specify what you mean by soy would give effects on our hormones? I use a lot of soy products in my food, as I got the impression that it was very healthy.

  • Couldn’t agree with you more… loads of people are so addicted to junk that they forget what their bodies really need. They end up thinking that they NEED that late afternoon sugar rush or excessively salty foods with little or no nutritional value.
Thank you for a great blog that reminds people that we should be eating consciously and listening to ourselves to find out what we really need.
I have just one concern – calories. As a trained nutrionist I love the choices you make but find your portion sizes a bit alarming. I do realize you don’t make a blog post out of each and every meal but more often than not i end up a bit perplexed – surely that’s not a full breakfast or a satisfying dinner? Everyone has different metabolisms and I am sure you are eating what your body tells you to but I can’t help thinking that most ”meals” you present are just not enough from a pure calorie perspective – even though they may be rich in nutrients. I could be wrong of course, perhaps you are snacking your way throughout the day in which case I deserve a telling off. I hope you agree that there are enough young girls who are obsessed with food and portion control and blogs like yours can really help set them on the right (or wrong) track.I do love your blog as I said but from a purely professional perspective it seems as though your metabolism could do with a bit of a boost – simply achieved by eating what you already do, but more.X
